The Mighty Conqueror I

The Mighty Conqueror I

Who is a mighty conqueror?

We started today expounding more on the attributes of one who is to be called a mighty conqueror; who is a mighty conqueror? what are the attributes of a mighty conqueror? these are questions we answered in today’s sermon review.

Text: John 11:25-26; 1st Corinthians 15:12, 52-58, John 1:1, Acts 9:3, Romans 6:3, Daniel 3:19, Daniel 6:16,

A mighty conqueror is not someone who has won a battle or a fight, it’s not someone who overcame sickness (at all), cos these victories are temporal, but a mighty conqueror is someone who has conquered death, and the only person who has conquered death is the Lord Jesus Christ; he’s our mighty conqueror, no one matches him. He that is capable of conquering death, is capable of conquering any situation. So, come with me this blessed day, as I introduce to you he that is capable of conquering all situations of life.

The word of God Is needed in our daily walk, and the bible is God in letter form, from which we draw strength on a daily basis. It is only in the word of God you can find Him (John 1:1). Read it, proclaim it! God will not deny His word.

The victory Jesus has over death is his resurrection. It isn’t any of the miracles he performed. And it is that victory that gives us hope. We pray to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, because Jesus is alive. In this, we have hope one day that all things will change, because Christ was able to overcome death and grave. If Jesus had died and remained in the grave, then our faith and hope in him is in vain. It is his resurrection that gives us the lively hope we have. So, because he lives, we can face tomorrow (Hallelujah).

The Apostle Paul was an accomplice to the death of some apostles, and even the Lord Jesus Christ. On his way to Damascus, to persecute Christians, as was his custom before his conversion, the voice of the Lord came to him in the pillar of fire (and all Jews knew/know the significance of the pillar of fire). Paul asked him, “who are you, Lord?” He responded, “I am Jesus whom thou persecute”. That voice that came forth to him was the voice of resurrection. He was no longer in the grave. Of note again is the fact that when Jesus responded to Paul, the response Paul got wasn’t the same as that of Moses (“I AM”) and some other men of God got. Why? Because Paul believed in the God of the old testament, but never in Jesus Christ which is the same God in the new testament.

Perhaps, Paul thought, “this Jesus, we killed him. How come he is speaking to me?” it means he has power over death. He overcame death. And then, Paul realized his folly. Then he asked, “what will you have me do, Lord?”, a question a child of God must ask after finding himself by the word of God.

When you call yourself a believer, believing something contrary to the bible, God will not destroy you (at all), but your destruction comes into reality when you chose to reject the truth brought to you by the scriptures. Apostle Paul humbled himself to accept the truth irrespective of his prestigious position as a pharisee, this defines a civilized person. A civilized person is not someone who has the whole knowledge of the world (at all), a civilized person is someone who is humble and subject to the word of God.

Brethren if there is nothing ahead, it means we are hopeless, but we are not hopeless believers because Christ has resurrected to give us hope of life, because of you and me he gave his life to deliver us from destructions, as a mighty conqueror he has given us life eternal – How much do you love God in your heart? how much do you prefer him to the things of the world?

The Rapture and The Tribulation Saints III

The Rapture and The Tribulation Saints III

In continuation of the subject we started on Sunday, we examined the difference between the ‘appearing of Jesus Christ (rapture) and His second coming’. The essence is to grasp the bible stand concerning rapture as against the misconception of men who are denying such. The only reason why we have people saying Enoch died somewhere, or that Elijah was thrown somewhere in Uganda or wherever, and other false doctrines related flying around is all an attempt to make believers relinquish their expected lively hope –rapture. Thus, it becomes necessary to have ourselves grounded in the faith of the bible so we won’t have to surrender to the jamborees of mockers.

The Rapture and The Tribulation Saints I

The Rapture

Text; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 1Timothy 6:13-14, Titus 2:13.

The rapture is the catching away of the bride of Christ to meet their groom in the air –thus, Christ is not coming down to the earth, rather He will appear in the air, and His appearance would cause the magnetization of His bride to Himself.

It is the lively hope that we were promised in scriptures as saints. Judgment awaits this world, but Christ has got plans to take his bride on a lovely honeymoon in heaven for seven years. The seven years period will be the remaining time for the Jews to receive the gospel through Moses and Elijah, and the great tribulation after the first three and half years. But before this seven years commence, the bride (wise virgins) would be caught up to meet the Lord. For just as Enoch didn’t experience the deluge of the antediluvian world, the wise virgins would not experience the period of the great tribulation.

If you look at the past precedence, like Enoch and Elijah, you would see the difference between what they prefigured to Lot. For the former, they were caught up whilst for the latter; God himself came down to save them, prefiguring the rapture saints and the tribulation saints respectively.

Let’s see a few scripture that speak of rapture.

1 Timothy 6:14 KJV

That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Titus 2:13 KJV

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

1 Peter 1:7 KJV

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

2 Timothy 4:8 KJV

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The Second Coming

Text: Jude 1:14, Matthew 16:28, 2Timothy 4:1, Titus 2:13, 1Peter 1:7, 2Thessalonians 2:3, 1Thessalonians 3:13.

In the second coming as prophesied in the Bible, He would come down to the earth with thousands of His saints. More so, whilst Jesus was being taken up in Acts 1:11, two angels appeared to the men of Galilee, affirming to them these words, “…this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go to heaven”. This means that the same way he was ciphered up from the earth, someday, he would be deciphered down back to the earth; He would stand upon the earth’s crust again as when he came at first. That is the second coming.

At Mount Transfiguration, Jesus also prefigured his second coming, prior to that time, he told his disciples that there are some of them who would not see death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. And after six days, Peter, James and John witnessed this, they saw Him coming in His kingdom with two other angels; a perfect reaffirmation of Enoch’s prophecy of the Lord coming with ten thousands of his saints. Jesus would appear alone, but when he’s coming, he won’t come alone.

In the second coming of Jesus, He is coming to execute judgment, and the brides are the army that would come down with Him when coming to fight the Armageddon war.

Your Responsibility

If your focus is the rapture, stop looking for fleshly convenience, there are prerequisites. Just like Jesus, before his ascension, instructed the 120 to tarry in Jerusalem for the Promise of the Father; if you read Luke 24:49, some things are quite obvious for us to see. The first is that it was a promise; second, he was going to send it to them, but still, they had to tarry in Jerusalem. Consider that no precise time was given to them; they must remain until the Holy Ghost comes. This will make you realize that Grace has work, and the work of Grace is Obedience. Would anyone have the excuse of not being around for some time whilst in the waiting process; he would be jeopardizing his chance of receiving the Holy Spirit. As the time approaches, Paul admonished us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves, right. You don’t want to have any excuse for missing the rapture, do you? Then, be responsive to the grace you received with prompt obedience. That’s all you need. It’s neither by power nor might. The grace of God will help us. Amen!

The Rapture and The Tribulation Saints I

The Rapture and The Tribulation Saints I

We welcome you once again to our sermon review.  Last week, we went through a teaching, titled “Who is this Melchizedek?” We were able to answer a couple of questions by the scriptures. click the link below to follow through:

WHO IS THIS MELCHIZEDEK?.

Today we delve into a new teaching, titled “The Rapture and the tribulation saints” expounding on the life of Enoch, what he represents, what message we have to learn from him, with focus on his translation. Today we have people question the translation of Enoch, saying he died somewhere, and that there is nothing like rapture (Translation). We are not surprised because Peter in his epistle predicted the rising up of scoffers who would be out to question the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and this is fulfilling right in our own dispensation. God most times allows these things to test our faith, and see if actually, we are standing for the truth. Suffice to say that we can only stand for the truth if we have rooted ourselves in the word of God.

TEXT: Genesis 5:19-24, 2 Peter 3:3, Jude 1:14, Hebrews 11:5, 1Thessalonians 4:16, Matthew 25:1-12, Revelation 1:4,16,  Revelation 3:14-18, Revelation 19:7, Genesis 9:29, Revelation 5:1, 1King 6:38, Ezekiel 40:22,26, Zachariah 14:7, 2king 2:11, Genesis 7:11, Genesis 19:14-26, Revelation 16:1, Revelation 11:5,10, 2Corinthians 6:18, Daniel 11:32, Revelation 3:10, Revelation 13:7, Revelation 12:11, 1Thessalonians  5:1,9.

Known to God are all His works from the foundation of the earth, and because everything of God is settled and steadfast, He is neither confused about His purposes nor how to go about them. This is the reason He would in the bible, prefigure a phenomenon that would take place in the future, thus enhancing our understanding when they begin to come to pass. Just like Paul says, that the ‘law is the shadow of good things to come’. With Enoch, one of the greatest messages of God was en-shadowed. Would you go with me to explore this spiritual adventure? Yeah, let’s go!

  • ENOCH, THE SEVENTH FROM ADAM

God has got His numbers/figures with which He operates, to pass vital revelation to His people. An example is “three” which stands for “Perfection”. God is perfected in threes. Not that God is three, but in His work of perfection, He will work with number “three” – Just like He works in three offices as ‘father, son and Holy Spirit’ –same God, but in three dimensions. In the perfection of salvation, we also have three processes, ‘Justification, Sanctification and the Holy Spirit Baptism’.

Another number God uses is “Seven” –which stands for “Completeness”. Naaman was told to go wash in Jordan seven times (2 king 5:10); the temple of Solomon was built in seven years –typing how Jesus would build his church through seven church ages (1 king 6:38); even the seven steps to the altar (Ezekiel 40:22, 26) prefigured the Gentiles. Seven is a number God uses to work with the Gentiles, thus if God must run His work to completion, “seven” must be involved. This is why God gave us this vital revelation that “Enoch was the seventh from Adam”(Jude 1:14)

Before we go into the fullness of the clause above, it is important to let you know that the gospel among the Gentiles is divided into seven dispensations, which must be, as God is completed in ‘seven’. These are the seven churches that were mentioned in Revelation 1:20. These churches mentioned typed a future occurrence of how the gospel would move through seven dispensations, akin the character of each church with the word of God in their respective age. So, a church called Laodicea was selected because of her character to prefigure the character of the seventh church age with the word of God.

Having understood this, we can now run abreast the message of Enoch with the bride of the seventh church age. For Enoch prefigured the bride of the seventh church age.

  • Enoch walked with God: Your walk with God was designed to be personal. You need to have your own revelation, and have your personal walk with God –just like Enoch. Someone else’s revelation cannot work for you –it also cannot take you in rapture. Second birth is not borrowable, get your oil, light your lamp, and girdle your loins. We are in the seventh church age, and it is expedient for us to walk with God just like Enoch, the seventh from Adam walked with God. Enoch lived 365 years and all that was said about him was that ‘he pleased the Lord’. Every day of our lives, every 365 days of the years of our lives, we are only supposed to have this testimony ‘that we please the Lord’. The bible didn’t record Enoch and his wife walking with God –it is personal!
  • Enoch was translated: Before the Great Tribulation, the bride of Jesus Christ (wise virgins) will be ‘raptured’, and this is what Enoch typed.  Enoch walked with God till He was taken up, that he should not see death. If Enoch was the seventh from Adam and was raptured, you can be sure that the bride in this seventh age will be raptured, for God has not appointed us to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9).
  • THE BRIDE WILL NOT GO THROUGH THE GREAT TRIBULATION

There is a call to seriousness for every believer of this age as I will beg to say that the standard for us is Enoch –we must be ready to have a walk with God that can be crowned with rapture. God has not destined the bride to go through the Great tribulation. We have a-seven-year program left for the Jews –which is split into two: the first three and half years is the time for the two witnesses to preach to the Jews and seal the 144,000 menservants. The last three and half years are for the Great Tribulation.

Now, in this last age before the gospel returns to the Jews, the Bible already prophesied that we would have both “wise virgins and foolish virgins” –these are the believers given the same opportunity. Their difference however is ‘diligence’ to the grace given to them. whilst the wise virgins will see every reason to keep walking daily closely to God, pleasing Him, having their lamps trimmed and their garments purified for their groom, the foolish are without sufficient oil and therefore would not make themselves ready for their groom, though they still are virgins. Thus, when the bridegroom comes, they would not go with Him in the rapture.

Therefore, we must be diligent to ensure that nothing interferes with our personal relationship with Christ. Just like Enoch, we need to forfeit friends and family who do not have the same goal that we have. Yes, you have to do away with some friends and you have to also walk with some people. Diligence is key! So for every serious-minded Christian, your type is Enoch. Enoch did not experience the deluge of the antediluvian world. God took him before the time.

Like Noah, the foolish virgins also would be saved but not without going through the tribulation –they will sacrifice their lives for it. Noah went through the deluge and he was a type of foolish virgins. But praise is to God that we are likened to Enoch, but we have to be diligent. May God help us to walk daily with Him.

Faith By Experience

Faith By Experience

Don’t you think we should revisit the word of God to catch the truth about what “faith” truly is –since more often than not, what we call ‘faith’ has not produced our desired result? A lot of people are offended by God because somehow, God has failed them by not responding to their faith. Could it be that the days of miracles are past, or our definition of faith is lopsided? Follow me as we examine the kind of faith God responds to!

Text: John 6:1-6, 1King 17:1-7, Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:29, Exodus 14:1-17

Have this settled in yourself that genuine faith has its root in the Word of God. Thus, if your faith is not underpinned by the Word of God, it is not faith!  Because faith is actually revelation –and revelation is “internalizing the Word of God”. The reason for which we do not see a correspondent result is because we have not internalized the Word of God. Faith does not operate outside the Word of God, so if you have not grasped that Word personally, thereby taking a step upon that conviction, you will not see the result. You cannot walk with God with someone else’s revelation –revelation must be personal.

Meanwhile, only tested faith produces results. So, before God will certify your faith for the result, it must go through a test –or sometimes, tests. Your steadfastness in those times of trials and the result thereafter is what builds your experience for the next phase with God. This means that God wants to do something with your faith that transcends the moment –He wants to build in you an experience that if well comprehended, would last you through the remaining phases of your life. That was what was achieved in David whilst in the wilderness, which was why he could come confidently to say ‘if God has done that, He could do this’ –he got an experience that became useful, not just when he needed to safeguard the flock, but to also bring the head of Goliath terrifying a whole nation of Israel down. See? It transcended the moment. It came through for him in the big occasion – the war front! That’s exactly what God wants to do with you! But how patient are you?

It is not that God wants to fail your faith, neither is it that He is not interested in your prayers. You are the one who is careful about the moment. God is not moved by that, God is not moved by your emotions –what appeals to Him is your patient faith, that can foster an experience, which will continually work for you for the rest of your life.

Phillip, at some point doubted the capability of Jesus when asked about the food to feed the multitudes that were with them. From John’s account in John 6:5, Jesus asked him “where shall we buy bread?” but from the perspective of the problem, Philip responded exclaiming a two hundred denarii worth of bread cannot be sufficient. Oh brother, Jesus was testing Philip, asking him, “do you think I can do this?’’ hence the word “where”, but Philip (just like you), was looking at something else, he wasn’t answering “where”, he was answering “how big the problem was”. You know sometimes, you’re engrossed with how great your problem is, and you want to with that, de-authenticate God’s power, right? But there is something you can do, let’s see that together.

“YOUR SOUL” –THE CENTRAL FACULTY

Your response to problems tells whether or not you will overcome them! Man is a tripartite being; he does consist of the spirit, soul and body. And these three have their senses that appeal to them, speak to them and govern them. Of course, the senses of the body are –see, smell, taste, feel and hear. The soul consists of your will, thoughts and emotions. However the soul is governed by just two things –Faith or doubt.

Now, naturally as humans, we want to respond to situations based on our feelings, based on what we hear the doctor says to us, and a lot more. Your body wants to send a signal to your soul, so does your spirit –all dependent on what you feed them with. The battleground, however, is your soul.

Meanwhile, a Christian is not supposed to be led by the carnal desires of the flesh, we are to build our spirit till we can respond to situations from the angle of God, and send a righteous signal to our soul to execute. Now, when you feed your spirit man with the Word of God, when a situation arises, you’re not quick to unplug from God and respond to emotions. Once emotion is activated, faith is killed! And with that, you cannot see the result. But because you want to have a commensurate result sponsored by your spiritual sense, you will need to imbibe the culture of the Word. The bible says, “Faith comes by hearing -hearing the word of God”. When you feed so well on the Word of God and build your spirit-man, you are most likely to always respond to challenges with the sixth sense.

THE SIXTH SENSE

Faith is the sixth sense. Although God gave you five senses, he never meant for them to lead you, they are only supposed to make you relate with your environment. God designed for his children that they be led by the sixth sense –faith! Faith is simple; faith is easy to practice, if only we can begin to take steps from the Word of God.

In the Miracle of God, you cannot distort nature and principles. God doesn’t do magic, His miracles can be explained. When you use a drug, you definitely are patient to see the drug work. To begin with, you take a step upon how you’re feeling to go see a doctor, and you take another step to use the drugs as prescribed, and then wait for the result. But why don’t you do that with faith? Why can’t you also see a spiritual instruction in the bible, and take the step as prescribed by the Word of God and be patient to see the result? Trust me, if you do, you will see results. But most times, patience is what is lacking, or perhaps, the fact that we don’t even have faith to begin with –we don’t believe it will work. You’re just carrying it out as a random exercise; you have not internalized that Word enough to believe that when you take a step towards it, you will see the result. So I can ask my question: in whom do you trust when you take a step? When you take a step according to your feelings, you have not trusted God, so you don’t expect to get a result from Him. When you wake up to pray, what sponsored that exercise? Check that first to know who you’re trusting in? Are you just carnally fasting to prove a point to your colleagues? I’m sorry, but God is not moved by that, He’s not trying to impress anyone. The basis of faith must be from the word of God, your motives must be vetted right by the Word of God if you must see a result.

FAITH BY EXPERIENCE

Since it is a step by step exercise, it has to be by experience. How? Take a step by the Word of God. Perhaps David had run away from the bear at some point –responding to fears, and the bear would have successfully taken one or more sheep for a prey, but one day, he took a step of faith, and he got the result. You know what? He had got experience. An experience that must have given him confidence when a lion appeared! That was not all, God was giving him those experiences because a Goliath lied ahead that must be conquered. If you don’t begin to build your faith by experience, you may not be able to bring down that Goliath. If you don’t have faith for healing, how can you have faith for salvation, and if you don’t have those, how can you have faith for rapture?

I challenge you today, build your faith! Every Child of God must have an experience of God. God has never and will never put faith to shame. Amen! Shalom!

Who is Melchizedek?

Who is Melchizedek?

Should a generation that has received a message from the Lord still be found in confusion? Should the Internet be a substitute-Holy Spirit for a believer to enquire about Bible truth? Knowledge indeed has increased as the Bible said it would. And our inability to comprehend the message of God in this generation may result in us being swayed by the world’s carnal intellectual knowledge, in trying to disprove the guileless word of God. So, follow me closely today as we examine one of the topics they are trying to discomfit: WHO IS THIS MELCHIZEDEK?

TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1, 1Timothy 4:1, 2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 3:3, Genesis 14:1-20, Genesis 25:1-2, Exodus 3:1, Genesis 41:45, Genesis 18:1, Hebrews 6:18-20, Hebrews 7:1-17, Luke 24:13, Daniel 3:23.

The devil is always doing one thing – perverting the word of God– he doesn’t have any other book to operate with than the bible. He does this so as to demean your faith in God, and that is why we must be meticulous about how we hear and what we hear. When the devil came to Eve, he came playing on the exact instruction God gave to Adam and Eve. Can you see? He is still at work, thus you need revelation, not seminary!

MELCHIZEDEK –KING AND PRIEST (Gen.14:1-20)

When Abram was coming from the slaughter of the kings, he met this mysterious man who was a King and Priest of God Most High. Whoever this man was, he must be connected to God, right? But in the Bible, the only possibilities that exist are these: we could have a Prophet-Priest, or a Prophet-King, but God never had a King who was also a Priest. So if Melchizedek was both ‘a king and a priest’ –of God, who is He? Remember Jesus Christ is the only One who is Prophet, Priest and King!

Meanwhile, in Exodus 3:1, we see Jethro –the priest of  Midian, but he was never called the priest of God. Also, in Genesis 41:45, Joseph got married to the daughter of the priest of On, he was also not referred to as the priest of God. Only Melchizedek was referred to as ‘priest of the Most High.’ This being brought bread and wine to Abram, and he blessed him; and to this being, Abram gave tithes of all.

Let’s see some features;

  • This Melchizedek prefigured Jesus Christ.

The bible declared Jesus Christ as a Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. If Jesus remains a Priest forever, would he be likened to a finite-timed man? Can any man do anything that God could copy from? If Melchizedek was a Gentile king, would the eternal kingdom of Christ be equated with his? If the kingdom of God is then compared with that of Melchizedek –which is definitely eternal in nature, then Melchizedek must be God –‘cause only God is Eternal!

Paul, having received the revelation of scriptures, told us that Melchizedek has neither beginning of days nor end of life, without father or mother, without genealogy. Whoever this is, He is God!

When God wants to reveal Himself to you, He is Spirit, thus will reveal Himself in a form (body). The body of God is a theophany body or a celestial body, and that was the body with which He appeared to Abram. God in this body came down to Abraham with two angels in Genesis 18. Notice that three people appeared to Abraham as he sat in his tent, but when Abraham was to address them, he said, “My Lord” not “lords”. Abraham knew Him; he knew that the remaining two were His witnesses, and not the other two Gods. God is one, not three.

Yes, when God was to redeem man, He prepared a body for Himself –even the tabernacle of Jesus, and after his baptism, the fullness of God was encapsulated in Him [Colossians 2:9]. And the very sign that Jesus demonstrated, Melchizedek demonstrated –the sign of the Son of Man (discerning the intents of man’s heart). And that was why He could tell that Sarah who was behind in another tent laughed when He was speaking with Abraham. Thus, Melchizedek (who was God in His theophany body) prefigured Jesus Christ in whom the Godhead was domiciled.

Did it occur to you that Melchizedek brought bread and wine to Abram, just as Jesus broke bread amongst His disciples in the evening? In Luke 24:30, the two men that were coming from Emmaus were only able to recognize Jesus Christ when He broke bread with them.

  • Melchizedek, King of Salem

There is no nation in history called ‘Salem’, Paul revealed to us that Salem means ‘Peace’, and He is a King. See? Whoever this is, He is the Father of Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, but this Melchizedek is the King of Peace!

He is also the King of Righteousness. No earthly king takes the title ‘Righteousness’, The only Righteous One is God. Gentiles serve dumb idols as Paul said, so if Melchizedek was a Gentile king, could he be righteous?

  • Melchizedek took tithes

When God called Abram, He blessed him and told him that all nations would be blessed through him. Thus, no one is greater than Abram on earth for he is the father of all nations with the blessing! However in Hebrews 7, scripture expound to us that the ‘one whose genealogy wasn’t derived from them (the tribe of Levi) received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises’ (Heb. 7:6). Then the Bible says in verse 7,

“And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.”

Who is the less? Abraham; who is the better? Melchizedek. If Melchizedek was an earthly king, could he be greater than Abraham -in whom all nations must be blessed? Can you now see that those with this cerebral claim that Melchizedek is a Gentile king are nothing but perverts?

Friends and elders, by the revelation of scriptures, we can say emphatically that Melchizedek is no Gentile king, rather, He is the revelation of God in His theophany body.

Shalom, and God bless you.

Who is Melchizedek?

Why 70 Years In Captivity?

Why 70 Years In Captivity?

If truly you are a Christian as you claim, the word of God will be motivating you, instigating you to do the right things. In fact, you can never live right, until you begin to think right, and you cannot think right unless the word of God is in you.

Text: Jeremiah 25:11, 15-18, 26-28, Daniel 9:1-2, 24, Luke 21:24, Isaiah 1:2, Isaiah 5:1

Daniel 9:2

In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books (shows that he studied the bible) the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem (this shows that he made calculations, as he knew that they were near the end of the 70yrs). The two key points here are pointers to the fact that Daniel was a serious Christian. God has from the scriptures given us signs to look out for even in our age, but do we do justice to this? Our signs are found in Matthew 24;1-6, 1st Timothy 1:3

God gave Daniel the overall time from the beginning to the millennium.

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people (the Jews) and upon thy holy city(Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment (the beginning of the fulfillment) to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks(69weeks): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

NB: The first 69weeks (7+62) have nothing to do with the gentiles. God is currently dealing with the gentiles, and he started dealing with them from the beginning of the 1st church age, and he will switch back to the Jews at the end of the last gentile church age.

Revelation 2:1 – 1st church age (In Ephesus)

The last gentile church age is called Laodicea, each of the gentile church age had its messengers. And that is why it is difficult for denominational church pastors to have revival, as they do not have the revelation of the word of God.

Let the word of God so richly dwell in you, only then can you have revival. Then can the man know his position and act accordingly, likewise every other member of the family.

The time of the gentiles is longer than the time allotted for the Jews. One day of the 70weeks makes 1yr, such that 1 week makes 7 years.

This means that God has dwelt with them for 69weeks, which is equivalent to (69 x 7)yrs = 483weeks. Meaning that God has dealt with the Jews for 483yrs. They are now left with 1 week, which is equivalent to 7 yrs. The Gentiles on the other hand have been under the dealership of God for so many years, with a church age spanning close to a thousand years??

2nd Peter 1:5 Add to your faith 7 others things, which make up the divine nature of GOD. So if you claim to be born of God, you carry the divine nature. If you show forth things contrary to that divine nature, you are not of him. 2nd Peter 1:9. With the gift of Holy Ghost in you, if you lack God’s character, you are blind.

Why did they go into captivity?

Isaiah 1:2Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

Isaiah 5:1, Matthew 23:34-39, Luke 21:24

The above scriptures show the works of the children of Israel, that subsequently brought about their punishment, which came in form of captivity and some other consequences. In the same vein, when we disobey the word of God, there will be consequences.

NB: We shouldn’t just attend fellowship, without paying attention, or giving God our full attention, because that is the reason we come before him.

Jeremiah 35:15I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. (They were in attendance, hearing the word, but they never paid attention)

God used the acts of the children of Israel as a yardstick, stating that if the children of Jonadab coyld obey their father, in not drinking wine, following the instructions of their father, how much more should his children obey him, which they didn’t do. That was a family that had revival. And God blessed them for it, saying that in His generation, God will call someone to be a minister.

Jeremiah 36, Jeremiah 38:2, Mark 6:22

God can put anyone into captivity because of disobedience, just as he did to the children of Israel. It could be financial captivity even.

Acts 7:56, Acts 14:17, 1st Corinthians 10:1-5, Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
